LJ writes the following about The Outsiders :
The Outsiders is a story about two rival gangs, the Socs (Socials), and the Greasers. The main character, Ponyboy, is not like the rest of the Greaser gang. He likes to go to the movies and reads books. He gets good grades and doesn't really like to fight. His parents died and now he must live with just his two older brothers, Darry and Sodapop. One day, Ponyboy and his friends Johnny and Dallas went to the movies. There they met two Soc girls, Cherry and Marcia. The two girls seemed to enjoy the company of Ponyboy and Johnny, but when Cherry's boyfriend finds out she was hanging out with a couple of Greasers, it turns into an adventure that none of the gang will ever forget. I just read The Outsiders in school and it has been the best book that I have ever read. This has been the first S.E. Hinton book I've ever read, but it definately won't be the last.
