John Grisham's "A Time To Kill" is about a lawyer representing a man that committed two murders in Clanton, Mississippi. It starts as a young black ten-year-old, is abducted by two white drunken men. The men do disturbing things to this young child. They leave her lying in a ditch after their sick game, when a group of black men find her and take her home. The sheriff then set up the two men, to say what they did to the girl to the sheriff?s informant. They were arrested and held in custody until their hearing in court. The town they lived in which were mostly whites were in shock of this horrible inhuman crime. The father of this young child then kills the two men and is now facing trial. Over all the book was very interesting, and kept me thinking about what drove the two men to do such inhuman things. I know now that drugs and alcohol truly do affect the mind, in ways that drive people to do stupid things. This book is a must reader if you enjoy reading about real life things such as the law. I compared this book to the other book I read, "The Rainmaker", it is very similar in a way. The story is different, but both seem to come back to court.
