This book was about a girl who is rich one day and poor and homeless the next. How? Well out of no where bandits attack her father and he dies. After his death some people burn their house down. Now they have no where to live and no money so Esperanza and her family must move to California to work for a living. Esperanza must learn how to work and get along with people with no education and that are different from her. She must also realize that she is not a rich girl and that she is now a peasent. Do you think she can handle it?
