jayne writes the following about Where Are the Children :
I thought "Where are the Children" was an excellent book. It grips the reader right from the beginning. Mary Higgins Clark has a talent for getting the reader to feel what the characters are feeling. This book in particular made me feel what the main character was feeling. Her children are taken from her for the second time in her life. Her first two children were murdered and throughout the whole story that is what she fears will happen to her current children. Mothers especially would find this book hard to put down. The reader feels so much hate for the person who took the children and so much empathy for the mother of those children. Through the whole book I was praying she would find her kids in time. Mary Higgins Clark told the story as a third person so that the reader reads about the person who has the children and all the other characters in sequential order. I couldn't put this book down and finished it in almost 24 hours (it is not a short book). I give this book the highest rating and encourage all Mary Higgins Clark fans to read it.
