Nigel writes the following about Hatchet :
Nigel Brundage Period 2 6-28-01 Hatchet Gary, Paulsen This is the Hatchet. The book starts about a boy named Brian, he is a 13-year-old boy. He was going to go visit his dad in Canada. He got onto the plane ready to take off. When he got on he toke off, and he was on his way to his dad. On the way there I would say about half way something went wrong in the plane. Brian noticed it, so he went up to the pilot and he notice the pilot wasn't driving the plane. The book Hatchet's plot would be in the wild because most of it happened in the wild. Like how he was trying to survive in the wild. He needs to try to survive in this wild by getting food and survive things. He would need to learn things in the wild like to do the main thing survive. Also, he would need to learn this so he doesn't get hurt. The main character in the story would have to be Brian. Because most of the story was about him in the wild, how he was trying to survive, and how he was going to visit his dad. The main character in the story Brian was trying to go visit his dad when something went wrong with the plane. When this something happened in the plane the plane went down and crashed, so he had to learn how to survive in the wild. Brian did happen to run into problems. Like how the skunk spared him with that gas, the tornado, and other things like animals and the wild. Brian had some adventures in the wild for example trying to get food in the wild and learning to use his tools in wild to get things like food, survive thing, and ect? My favorite character is Brian because how he needs to survive in the wild. Because if someone read this book and he/she got lost in the wild they would know what to maybe do if this happen to them. For an example food, tools, and survive things. I can't relate anything about this story that has happened in my life. I did kind feel something like this like how I was going to do a jump with my bike about 10 feet long (I know it is more then that it is a guess) and I hit a pole and broken my arm. I did like the book I think it was kind of good, my favorite part was when he had that tornado I think there cool but not when they destroy things. I don't real have any least part. I don't think I would change anything in the book. I would recommend this book to anyone that likes to read about adventure books. A person that likes to read adventure books and how someone survives in the wild.
