The Baudelaire orphans were committed as criminals because people thought they had murdered somebody, so they were put in the local newspaper. They had nowhere to go until some volunteers picked them up, and the volunteers had no idea the orphans were criminals. They were heading to the Heimlich Hospital to do some volunteer work, until a bad guy named Count Olaf came along.
Soon Count Olaf's girlfriend captured the oldest Baudelaire, and she was to have surgery by Count Olaf's crew. Then the other two Baudelaire orphans tried to save their loving sister, so they dressed as doctors so no one in the hospital could reconize them as criminals, and they also pretended to be surgeons, so they can pretend to be the surgeons operating on their sister. While the Baudelaire orphans tried to save their sister a fire suddenly occurred in the hospital. Will the Baudelaire orphans save their sister before it's too late? Will they successfully escape the fire and have Count Olaf arrested? Read this book to find out what will happen to the Baudelaire orphans.
