Jonathan writes the following about Holes :
Holes is about a boy named Stanley Yelnats. He gets hit in the head with a pair of shoes and the cops think he stole them. His family has a curse on them because of their no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-grandfather. Because of the stolen shoes he gets sent to Camp Green Lake for 6 months rather than go to jail. When Stanley got there he had to dig 3 holes five feet wide and five feet deep. There he makes a new friend named Zero. Stanley helps teach Zero reading and writing and in return Zero helps Stanley dig his holes. Zero smaks the camp counsler, Mr. Pendanski in the face with a shovel and runs away. Stanley then steals the water truck to go find Zero, but he crashes into a hole and runs off to go find Zero. Stanley finds Zero hiding under a boat and then they find out why they have been diding holes. I recommend this book because it is funny, interesting, and mysterious.
