J. J. Richards writes the following about Rinkitink in OZ :
In which King Rinkitink visits a pearl-fishing island in the Nonestic Ocean named Pingaree. Soon, invaders from the Regos and Corgos Islands destroy everything and take everyone...even King Kitticut and Queen Garee! But little Prince Inga, Bilbil the Goat, and King Rinkitink must save them from King Gos and Queen Cor! With the three magic pearls (blue pearls gives one strength, pink pearl protects people from danger, and white pearl whispers words of wisdom) they go to Regos and Corgos, meet Zella who accidently had Inga's pearls for a while, and then travel the the Nome Kingdom, for now the King and Queen of Regos and Corgos have given Queen Garee and King Kitticut of Pingaree to Kaliko the New Nome King! But later, Princess Dorothy, the Wizard of Oz, and some eggs help! But will Kaliko let them go, after he endangered their lives?

RINKITINK IN OZ was published in 1916 by the Reilly and Britton Co. with 12 color plates and the black-and-white illustrations. The Oz Film Manufacturing Company had taken up all of Baum's time and sadly went out of buisiness and was sold to Universal. But there was no 1916 Oz book ready...or was there? In 1905, L. Frank Baum had written KING RINKITINK, a novel 'in the vault' in case nothing else was published. He added an Oz ending and RINKITINK IN OZ is a wonderful Oz book. But Baum's health was failing!

In some places, RINKITINK IN OZ is like OZMA OF OZ. When Kaliko shows Inga, Bilbil, and Rinkitink his Nome Army, it is like Roquat showing Ozma, Dorothy, Billina, Tik-Tok, and everyone else his army of thousands of Nomes. It was a good book, but the next one will be even better!
