Anthony writes the following about The Outsiders :
Do you like books about friends, action, and sadness? Then you should read the Outsiders by S. E. Hinton. It is a good book. It might be long but it is good. I like this book when I first started reading it.
The first thing I liked about the book is when Johnny said, ?stay gold, stay gold, Ponyboy.? This means to be yourself. The next thing I liked was when Ponyboy stood up for himself and broke the glass and scared the Soc?s and picked up the glass. The third thing I liked was when Dally got mad because the news reporters didn?t put anything bad about him in the newspaper when he went into the church and saved Johnny and Ponyboy?s lives. I liked when Johnny saved the kids from the burning church because it showed how brave he could be.
My favorite characters in The Outsiders are Ponyboy and Johnny. Ponyboy is smart, funny, and I like the way he acts. Johnny is my second favorite character. He is quiet and he helped Ponyboy by killing Bob at the park. They are both heroes. They saved kids from a burning church.
My favorite part of the book is when Johnny said, ?stay gold, Ponyboy? at the hospital. He said for Ponyboy to be himself. Don?t act like anyone else. Be yourself by being nice, staying in school and getting good grades.
I think you should read this book because it is awesome. I give The Outsiders 5 stars out of 5. This book is funny with the characters in it. I?m not going to tell you anymore, just read it!
