Mariana Ecija writes the following about The School Story :
A kid getting a novel published, too good to be true, right? But it is true. In the book The School Story, by: Andrew Clements, a very young student, named Natalie Nelson, has written a powerful school story book. It’s a short novel called, “The Cheater”. Many people love Natalie’s book, even her best friend, Zoe.
Natalie’s mom is an editor for a big publishing company. Natalie has written a really good story and when her best friend, Zoe, reads it she can’t believe how great it is so she wants to find a way to publish Natalie’s story. When something gets into Zoe’s head there is no turning back. Zoe knows she can get her and Natalie to publish the book because her mom is an editor for publishing books. But Natalie doesn’t want to bother her mom and say she wants to publish one of her own books. So Zoe plans a plot to try and get to publish the book but without Hannah, Natalie’s mom, finding out that its Natalie’s.
