Josh Ostrander writes the following about Redwall (Book 1, Redwall) :
In this book a young mouse named Matthias is living in Redwall. Later on in the story Cluny the Scourge invades Redwall. Then Matthias and Methuselah find Martin the warriors shield and belt. Then King Bull Spara captures Matthias and takes him hostage. There he met Warbeak and Dunwing. Then Warbeak and Dunwing help him escape. Then he goes on another quest to find Martin’s sword. Along the way he makes a bet with Captain Snow the owl about killing Asmodeus the snake. In the Asmodeus’ cavern Matthias finds the sword and slays Amodeus. Then the book ends in an exciting ending. I would give this book an eight because it was exciting and full of action. The illustrations in this book were very odd so I would give it a four for illustrations. Over all I would recommend this book for people who like action. Once you start reading this book you won’t be able to stop.
