kori writes the following about Timothy of the Cay :

The Cay is a story of a young boy, who has been blinded and winds up on an unfamiliar environment. So he is forced to grow up and become more independent for himself!

Phillips survival depends upon learning to follow the same steps as Timothy and learning to trust and doing stuff by yourself instead of having people do everything for you.

The Cay also illustrates the progress toward the young boy and how much he has improved and became more independent for himself! He has done a lot of things even though he is blind. He had faith and courage in himself! Philip is contemptuous of Timothy, but is also completely dependent on him for survival. When they wash up on a desert island!

So I thought that this book is a heartwarming story of survival, friendship and sacrifice.

Overall I thought that the author has done a very good job on keeping people focused on the book. The beginning was kind of boring at first but when I got into the book it turned out to be a very amazing book that I would recommend to anybody. Kids I think would enjoy this book also. This book is just superb! A story of how two different people from different backgrounds that both plays an important role in each others lives it was just one amazing book! Phillip had realized that his mother was all wrong about black people that they can be thoughtful caring people. Timothy had helped Phillip out all the way and enjoyed spending some of the time with him! This book was worth the time that I spent reading it!
