This book is about a girl name Cindy and she is a student at Bluford High School. She dosen't really go to school cause she feels like her mother didn't care about her and she had very low self-esteem, until one day her neighbor Ms. Davis showed up at her door telling her how pretty she was so then the next day her best-friend Jamee came and tried to persuade her to go to school which wasn't hard to do. Then Cindy went to school and saw a fimilar face Bobby Wallace someone her friend Jamee used to date and he used to use drugs and beat on Jamee, Cindy didn't like Bobby until that day after school he stopped her and took her out for ice cream and told her how he have changed and didn't use drugs anymore. So Cindy started talking to him because he was the first boy to show interest in her in a long time. So the next day Cindy's other friend gave her a call to let her know about her disapproval about Cindy even getting in a car with that physco Bobby but Cindy didn't car about what anyone had to say about him so she contuined to talk to Bobby.
