Chris writes the following about Love That Dog :
Sharon Creech's love that dog was a really fascinating and intriguing type of book.I wanted to read more as tha story progressed. It is about a boy who thought poetry was for girls and didn't like it at all, but later on he starts writing his own poetry and wants his poems anonymous, but later on wants his name on his poems. i thought this book was good because jack got inspired by someone and at the start he didn't even want to write poems.Walter Dean Myers wrote poems and jack started reading them and became interested in them. His teacher encouraged him to write poems and then he began to love poetry. One thing i liked about this book is the little poems all through the story because it is interesting to see all the different styles of writing poems and how they are formatted in different shapes. One that is called my yellow dog by Jack is shaped like a dog. Also there is another one shaped like an apple called the apple by S.C Rigg. One character i liked was his teacher because she encouraged him to keep writing poetry when he didn't want to because she thought he was good and should put his name on it even though he wanted no one to know he wrote it. Overall i think this book was enjoyable because it made me want to kepp reading it, and it all comes together once you keep going. If i was to rate this book i would give it a 7/10 and i would recommend this book to other people
