Marcus writes the following about Touching Spirit Bear :
Cole Matthew's isn't one of the people to mess with...so Peter Driscal found out. In the excellent novel, Mikaelsen paints vivid pictures of the characters, the surroundings, and the emotions of the characters.
In this novel, Cole is a juvenile delinquent that has anger, trust and understanding problems. His mother and father are alcoholic and abusive so that's all he knows in life. When he smashes Peter Driscal's head into the sidewalk, Cole has only 2 choices: Jail or Circle Justice. Of course, he choses Circle Justice. When he arrive at an Island in the middle of no where, he burns his only shelter and supplies. After he tries to escape the island, he get's mauled by a bear. This is one of the best books I have ever read. If you want to know if Cole lives or dies, you have to read the book yourself. I strongly recommend it. This is an awesome book!
