Siera writes the following about The Boyfriend :
I absoulutly loved this book. Well the begining and middle at least. The ending however, didn't make much sense to me at all.
Joanna had everything, the perfect body, the perfect hair, the perfect life, and even her boyfriend Dex was almost pefect. That didn't matter to Janna though because nothing was good enough for her, not even Dex. Dex was just a toy to her, a little puppet that she could controll. But what happens when Dex dies, nothing. Janna feels no pain or greif about the death of the boy who loved her. Then dex comes back...from the grave. And he wants one more date.
So up to there the book was an amazing thriller. However, after chapter 18 things don't really make much sense. Did Dex actually die from the fall, or was it a horrible trick. And when Joanna stab him did he actually die, and when did Mary become the silent controller of the whole plot. Also in the end when she calls Shep doesn't seem to make any sense at all. However, there is the possibility that Stine wanted to make the book confusing. So if you understand a part that I didn't please comment on it in your review
