This was absolutely the worst book I've ever read in my life. I had extraordinarily high expectations after reading wonderful, bloated reviews that turned out to be nothing but sheer fabrications. The story is simply ridiculous. How could this book even come close to winning a Newberry Medal? Charles Wallace, Meg and the others are annoying with their "better-than-your-family" mentality throughout the book. The plot itself was tedious and had no elements of prevailing action or suspense at all, though the failed attempt was obvious. While reading the book, I hoped to reach the moment where I could understand why this book is so great, why it is so cherished, but that moment never came. The dull plot led on to nothingness in the end. This book was garbage, a pure and utter disappointment. L'Engle's 'Many Waters' was a true masterpiece much more worthy of fame than this pile of trash.
