Maiya-Coy-Nandez writes the following about Monster :
After reading the book i had a greater out look on life. The book talked about a young black man named steve's involvement in a crime. The is told in the format of a journal and a film layout. The authour goes back and forth from the main characters thoughts to the film and actions and such in court. The main settings are the court room and the detention center. The book really talkes about how life is hard for a young black boy. And how race and discrimination can play a part in the court room and it never pays to lie.
