Flipped is about a boy named Bryce and a girl named Juli. Juli is a 7 year old girl at the time and is obsessed with Bryce Loskis. Bryce is 8 years old at the time and has just moved into the house across from Juli Backer. The first day the Loskis’ move in Juli comes over and annoys the family to death. All she wants do is be neighborly but its ends up turning into a lot more than that.
Bryce has been trying to avoid Juli for the past 5 years and Juli hadn’t gotten a clue yet. One morning Juli walked up to the Loskis’ house to give them some of her chicken’s eggs. Bryce opened the door and took them. Bryce’s family was afraid that they had salmonella so they threw them out. Bryce was supposed to tell Juli that they didn’t want any more eggs, but instead every week for the next year he intercepted them so she wouldn’t ring the door bell and wake his parents. After he got the eggs he would through them in the trash. But one morning Juli was standing there after she gave Bryce the eggs. Bryce needed to empty the trash so he put the eggs in the trash as he did every week and walked outside. To his surprise Juli was right there. She saw the eggs sitting on top and asked if they had broke so Bryce said that they had and he was very sorry. But Juli didn’t fall for it, she told him that people had been paying her money for those eggs and that he had lost her over 200 dollars and since her family didn’t have much money, that was a lot. They stopped talking for a while after that.
In the end the 2 families have dinner together and enjoy themselves. Bryce had actually had a secret crush on Juli and tried to kiss her. He got made fun of at school and he and Juli didn’t talk much any more. Then one day they waved to each other through the window and they became friends for the first time in 7 years
