A young bat named Shade is a runt for his colony. Shade had a long and dangerous winter migration to Hibernaclum, millions of wingbeats to the south. During a terrible thunderstorm, he is swept out of the ocean, long,long away from his friends and family. Then Shade sets out on a remarkable journey to rejoin the colony to the south.
