This book is great! It is about a child who had a very harsh life,because his mom always abused him. There are more children in the family but he is the only one that gets beat. His dad used to try to help him,but he kept getting in fights with his wife and then stopped trying to help. His mom always found different ways to abuse him and they were all cruel. Eventually he gets help and is free from his mom forever. I recommend this book fifth graders and up because this book has some very scary parts in it.
