The book The Island was written by Gary Paulsen. Usually Gary Paulsen writes books on survival this book is a little diferent than one. It is about a boy named Wil who moves to a new town. The town is very country and old with not to many people. At this new town he discoveres an island. At this island he believes he becomes one with himself and likes to writes articles on animals in his jurnal and illustrate them. He dosn't actually just write about animals but he also wrote about his grandmother and these people at his towns cafe. The reson why I gave this book a 3 is because it has no conflict. I had to even put the book down and read nother one instead! The bully was only seen once in the story from what I read. The conflict between his parents isnt even so bad i see them getting along. Basicly don't read this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!
