Bailey writes the following about The Great Gilly Hopkins :
I read The Great Gilly Hopkins which turned out to be a very good book.
Gilly is a foster child and not a very good kid. All she wants is to live with her mom, she doesn't want to live with anyone else. When I read that Gilly 's Grandmother had to pay Cournty, Gilly's mother, to come visit, I was sad that she didn't want to come see her own child. If I could change that I would make it so she would come see Gilly with out having to be paid. I didn't understand the way Gilly's mom acted.

I am giving The Great Gilly Hopkins ten stars because I thought it was a very good book. I am giving it ten stars even though Gilly's mom didn't want to come see her.
