Crispin The Cross Of Lead was a tremendous book.I would give it a 9 out of 10. The author was Avi. The book is historical fiction. Kids that would like it are kids that like adventure and a little scare.
At the beginning Crispin's mother dies and gives him a cross with writing on it. His dad has been dead. Crispin has to leave the town after being blamed for the death of the priest. He meets a man named Bear. Bear is a performer. They went aroud performing and at different towns. One of the towns Bear is caputered for being in a secret club. Crispin then has to save him.
My favorite character was Crispin because, he didn't let Bear die. He didn't want to lose a friesnd, and did something about it. I would not change anything about this book because, I like how everything envolded at the end.
If you check this book out you won't be disapointed.
