Cody writes the following about Maniac Magee :
Maniac Magee is about a boy who is an orphan after his parents we're killed in a car crash. His real name is Jeffry Magee. Maniac Magee loves to read. He was staying at the Beal's and after them the McNab's. This is similar to A Week in the woods. I's similar because the main character had to survive on hus own,and it's the same with Jeffry.

I only gave this book a rating of four because it was interesting. Once I got into the book, I was so interestedin it. When I was reading, it was sad because there's a boy who's on his own, no family , no shelter. When I would read this I would think of how many kids now are orphans with no shelter and no family. Maniac Magee is a very good book for anyone who likes adventure, will enjoy this book.

Some ways to improve the book are maybe tell the story from the Beale's point of view Maniac left. Did they go looking for him or not. The author could have written a book #2 and could tell how Maniac is doing with the Beale's now nd if he's going to school. Jerry Spineeli could have made the book longer so we could maybe understand it better. Thede are someways I might to improve the book.
