Payton writes the following about Wringer (Joanna Colter Books) :
The book I read, Wringer, is a really good book. The book is about a boy named Palmer, growing up he wanted to becomea wringer at ther celebration where they shoot 5,000 pigeons. He then joins a group of boys who aren't exactly nice and finds out what they really do to pigeons. Later on he actually adopts a pigeon and keeps his forbidden pet a secret. I'll let you read the book and find out the rest. I rate this book a 4 out of 5 becausethere were parts where it was dull and parts where it was great. I believe this book is for 4th through 6th graders. I actually enjoyed the book, when it started talking about pigeons I had my doubts, but i insure you i9f you stick with it you'll love it!
