Terah writes the following about Room One :
It all started when Ted Hammond(the paper boy) was riding his bike to school one day and he saw a girl in the top window of the Anderson's house which is abonded. He really wanted to see who it was so one day so he climbed on the Anderson's barn and he didnt notice andything. When he was heading back out the girl that he saw stopped him and made him swear that he didnt tell anyone. She also told them that her and her family were there because her dad died in Iraq and a guy had been following them ever since and that they would be very happy if he brought food by tommorow. He broght them food one day and his teacher saw him leaving the abanded house.
