Justin Heinzeroth writes the following about The Sign of the Beaver :
This book is a very good book for elementry through high school students.Many people that have read this book have gave good review. This book is about a boy named Matt and his family. He and his father are going to there new land to build a cabin. Then Matt's father would go to get the rest of the cabin and Matt would watch the cabin. Matt meets two indians and he becomes friends with them.
Attean was one of the indians and Matt was teaching him to read. Matt made deals with Attean and his grandfather. In the end of the book Matt's family returns and they love the cabin. Matt's mother was glad he was doing so good. they all live happy ever after.
