HOLES

Holes is about a kid named Stanley Yelnats. Stanley and his family live in a tiny little apartment in Texas and one day walking home from school a pair of shoes falls out of the sky and hit him on the head. Shortly after that, the cops show up and say that he stole the shoes even though he didn’t but of course, the cops don’t believe that a pair of shoes just fall out of the sky. Apparently, the shoes were donated to an auction and belonged to a famous baseball player named Clyde Livingston (he was Stanley’s favorite baseball player). Stanley went to court and the judge gave him a choice to either go to jail or go to Camp Green Lake, Stanley said he’d never been to camp before and the judge sentenced him to eighteen months at Camp Green Lake. When Stanley got to Camp Green Lake he saw there really was no lake, and that it was all dried up and that there used to be a lake there and the town was called green lake. One of the people in charge was Mr. Sir that’s who Stanley met first and who he got all his stuff from he also said that he’d be digging holes for the next eighteen months. One person in his tent named X-ray said that the fist day was the hardest and then after the second day he said the third day was etc. after a while he started getting used to the conditions and started making friends and even got a nick name Caveman. Then one day a kid named Zero asked him to teach him how to read in exchange for Zero to dig part of Stanley hole. Then one day Zero got mad and ran away and Stanley went after him and they climbed gods thumb, a nearby mountain and they found water and onions on the top and then one night went back to camp and dug up a hole that Stanley had found a gold tube in and they found a tresure.
