mikayla writes the following about Hoot :
Have you ever herd of owls that live in the ground? If you have not you should read Hoot, by Carl Hiaasen. It talks about owls who live in the ground at a constrution sight. Curly, an old man who is helping build another Mother Paula's Panacake House has to kill all the owls before he can start, but someone keeps saving the owls by covering up their holes and moving the sight markers.
Hmmmmmm! I wander who it is? In this amazing, page turning book, there are very few kids that know about the Running Boy. There is also a new boy named Roy. He is called cowgirl by Dana Matterson the local bully. I'll let you find out though why he is called cowgirl. Roy lives in Florida on Cocanut Cove where he and other kids try to save the owls. Later in the story Roy finds the running boy's secret hideout in the woods. In this story there is tons of action I think you will love.
