The Monument,by Gary Paulsen,is about a girl named Rachel and her dog Phython. Rachel's nickname is Rocky. Rocky had a messed up leg so Phython follows her around and helps her.Their town wants a monument, so Mick comes to town. Rocky finds him asleep in his car. The major problem is this story is that the town wants a monument.
I like this book because Mick inspires Rocky to be an artist. I think that it is neat how Phython protects Rocky. It is also cool how Mick draws everything and detail he sees. You should read this book to see if their town gets a monument.
