Shelby R. E. writes the following about Holes [UNABRIDGED] :
Holes

It’s all because of his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather! The boy in this book is named Stanley, and let us just says he is like a magnet for bad luck. This book is like a nail-biting thriller that you cant put down. It can only be one book, which is… Holes, by Louis Sachar. You’ll be so into this book, that it will seem your stuck in a hole and can’t get out. I thought it was great and hopefully you do too.
In holes, there’s a boy named Stanley. He’s a little over-weight and is always bullied. His family was not rich, but not poor. They lived in a apartment and the dad was always trying to figure out a way to reuse sneakers. One day he was late and missed the bus! Stanley was walking home from school, when something hit him in the head. What hits him in the head, is the cause of all his problems soon to come. Do you ever wonder how it would be like to be punished for something you didn’t do? Well, that’s exactly what is going to happen to Stanley! He had a decision to either go to juvenile or camp. You need to read the book to find out where he goes and how it is like. Let’s just say, he’s going to have a long journey ahead of him. Stanley is going to meet a friend along his journey. All I can say is that this could change is life and maybe even someone else’s. If you had to choose any book I would suggest do pick Holes because it is a realistic story and its just over all a great book!
