Kurtis writes the following about Because of Winn-Dixie (Newbery Honor Book, 2001) :
I read the book call Because of Winn-Dixie writen by Kate Dicamillo. In this book there is a girl named India Opal Buloni but she go's buy Opal and her father the preacher sends her to the supermarket to get a box of macaroni-and-cheese,and some white rice and two tomatoes.In sted of of geting what her father asked her to get she got a dog insted. The dog had made a huge mess in the store haveing a good. The dog was running around and knocking the food of the shelves. The people are trying to cetch the dog and the manager said call the pound and opal yells wait a minute thats my dog.
Then she took the dog Winn-Dixie. When she got to her trailor she asked her dad if he could ceap Winn-Dixie. The first time he said no to the dog becouse the rules of the trailor park were no pets. When the preacher saw the dog he said yes because the dog had paches of hair missing and cuts and stuff. If you won't to now what hapens in the rast of the you will haft to read it your self. This book is now one of ny favoret books.
