Cnkers writes the following about Skinny :
Have you ever been hungry? To hungry to eat? Well I guess Giselle Vasco has. She was once a top medical student an a role model for her younger sister Holly until she decided to starve herself and became anorexic, the reason for her doing this is because she's haunted by her late relationship with her so-called father. The reason I say so-called is because she always thought her and her sister had the same dad until one day she found out her mom had an affair with a Spanish man, Misha. You may think Giselle is the problem but Holly is following her sister’s path, she gets in fights in school, and just got diagnosed of having epilepsy. Her sister Giselle in not only anorexic, she has heart trouble too which calls for heart surgery. Another problem which makes the girls life worse is Sol, Giselle's boyfriend although Giselle does not believe in true love and thinks Holly is having an affair with Sol, which is sadly true....This book is very depressing and sad but it is written very well. This book is a good book for teens. It teaches them a good lesson what NOT to do in life. I hope you read it! :)
