Bryan Yaung writes the following about The Great Gatsby :
Gatsby, who was impoverish but had dream about becoming an affluent guy. Because of the war, Gatsby had to broke up with Daisy, but after coming back to normal, he realizes that Daisy got married. Gatsby, who is now affluent, tries to get her back with his money and flamboyant lifestyle, which shows his egocentrism. But unfortunately, Daisy doesn't like Gatsby, showing what a true love is. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, deals with one of common but complex situation. It tells what a true love is, and person's wrong thought about money and love, but also the story itself is actually very similar to the author's life. In the story, the author uses the character Nick Carraway as himself to narrate the story. The story takes place in 1920, which is after World War I. Therefore, because of the war, many people were poor wanted to be rich like Gatsby, but Daisy shows that richness is not a true love. I like this book because it shows that money can buy anything but love. I would like to recommend this book to the people who likes money, want to be rich and think affluence is happiness. like Gatsby, who was a millionaire, wasn't satisfied with his life but Daisy, who isn't rich but not poor, could found happiness in her life.
