Alex writes the following about Holes :
Stanley Yelnats is a boy who is 10 years old. He was sent to Camp Green Lake for stealing shoes that belonged to a famous athlete named Clyde Livingston, however, Stanley was actually innocent.
Some of you may think that being sent to Camp Green Lake would be a reward, but there is no lake at Camp Green Lake. Over a hundred years ago there was a lake, the largest lake in Texas, but now it is just a dry, flat wasteland.
Over at the "lake" the campers are forced to dig a hole five feet deep and five feet in diameter. Everyone thinks that the boys are digging holes to turn themselves into good little boys, but little do they know that the Warden has slippery intentions.
I gave Holes a 10 out of 10 because the plot was very interesting and the author kept flashing back to the past when there was a lake at Camp Green Lake, and then back to the present where there is no lake at Camp Green Lake.
