Beowulf writes the following about Gone Away Lake :
Gone Away Lake is a wonderful story about a child who was forced to stay with her aunt, uncle, and cousins. She expects to have a very boring time, but things change when she and her cousin Julian accidentally discover a dried up lake. But the dried up lake isn’t the most exiting thing they find! Next to the lake is an abandoned town! But is the town really abandoned? The two children hear two old people talking about taxes! Julian accidentally makes noise and the two old people find them. They expect the old people to be mean but their not. They have many very unusual adventures together. I like this book because it is very adventurous and extremely hard to put down. It is appropriate for all ages.
