Cecily writes the following about The City Of Ember :
This book is about Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow's quest to save the city of Ember. Since the beginning, the builders knew the city would only last 220 years. They left instructions in a box that was set to open in 220 years. it was passed down from Mayor to Mayor until one mayor didn't tell his successor about it. It was left in the back of a closet waiting for someone to come upon it. It is now the year 241 and the town is running out of necessary supplies. Once Lina finds Polly, her sister, with a chewed up piece of paper with the Builders writing on it, she realizes that those are the instructions to save the city. Doon and Lina team up and try to save everyone but do they succeed? If you want to find out what happens read the City of Ember.
