Erica writes the following about Catherine, Called Birdy :
Catherine Called Birdy is a book about a young girl, Catherine, who doesn't like her life. She is to be married to a man she thinks is a pig and she compares herself to the birds she takes care of, she feels like she is trapped in a cage and can't get out. Catherine depends on her best friend Perkin to help her get out of marrying the pig. Can Catherine's cleverness and perseverance get her out of marrying a pig, Will Catherine’s feelings change about her life in the end? This book is an interesting adventure that will take you back to the Medieval Times. I recommend this book for ages 10-12.
