Kayla writes the following about Stuck in Neutral :
I think that "Stuck in Neutral" by Terry Trueman was an excellent book. My only problem was the ending...THERE WASN'T ONE!!! I would like to know whether or not Shawn's father smothered him with the pillow or not. I would have liked more than Shawn just having a seizure. I think that despite the ending, the book was excellent. It had a bit of a message about euthenasia. Even though you think that you are putting a person out of their misery or stopping their pain, I believe (and I think that Mr. Trueman feels the same way after reading this book) that maybe they don't want to be put out of their misery and you are strongly mistaken. As Shawn said in the book, he likes his seizures, but no one will ever know that because he cannot actually communicate with the world around him. If his dad did kill him, I think he is completely and utterly wrong for that. I would like Mr. Trueman to write a sequel to Stuck in Neutral. Perhaps if he does decide to make Shawn's father kill him, he can write a book through Cindy, Paul, Lindy, or Syd's point of view and have their thoughts on Shawn's condition. All in all, it was a VERY good book that could have used a VERY good ending, but lacked that.
