The Three Investigators in the Mystery of the Fiery Eye is about a group of kids, called The Three Investigators that get a letter from a friend. The letter is a riddle that leads to a very valuable red ruby. The only person that could unravel it is their friend, Gus. The Three Investigators aren?t the only ones that are racing to get it. There is a gang and a man from India that is supposed to put the ruby back to its original spot. The Three Investigators face challenges and hardships in their way to uncover the ruby. You will have to read the book to figure out more details about it.
The Three Investigators are Jupiter Junes, Pete Crenshaw, and Bob Andrews. Their friend, Gus, is tall, thin and always scared. Jupiter Jones is the head of The Three Investigators. He is stocky enough to be called fat. Jupiter is a genius and loves gadgets. The 2nd investigator is Pete Crenshaw, he is tall, has blonde hair, and is quick. Bob Andrews is the 3rd investigator; he broke his leg tumbling down a hill, so he wears a brace. Bob is studious and skilled at research.
I give this book a 9, because it kept me at the edge of my seat throughout the whole book, but it didn?t give a good physical description of the main characters. Also it?s very interesting and exciting. The setting is modern time and starts out in the Jones Salvage Yard, which is Jupiter Jones? aunt?s junkyard. If I would change something in the book, I would explain the physical description of the main characters better in the beginning. This book is in a series, so the series could be closely compared to the Hardy Boys series, because they are both mystery-adventure type books with little action. Also the main characters are the same age. The theme of this book is don?t be greedy. The fortune hunters wanted the fiery eye so bad, that they would do anything just to get it and then sell it for a lot of money. So, I would recommend The Three Investigators in the Mystery of the Fiery Eye to anybody that likes mystery.
