Holes is a Newbery Medal Award Winning book by Louis Sacher. He is a great author. I would highly recommand your child to read this book becasue you come to relize that you make your own problems and you have to fix them yourself.It is for children of all ages it is even for adults. It is very suspensful in some parts. You will never stop reading this book after you read the first chapter.
