J.C. writes the following about Winners Take All :
Do you love books and sports? If you do, you'll enjoy Winners Take All. Kyle, the main character, plays on the little league baseball team, The Reds. They are playing The Cubs in the little league world series. The book starts off with the Reds ahead 4 to 3. The bases are loaded and The Cubs best hitter is up and hits one over the fence. Kyle tries to run back to the fence and catch the ball. He jumps over the fence but misses the it. Nobody sees him missing the ball. He cheats and says he caught it. The story is about Kyle suffering through the series because he knows he cheated, but he still makes it through the games. The book spotlights why its wrong to cheat and the importance of honesty. There are some black and white illustrations that added to my enjoyment of the story. I loved this book because it has a lot of suspence, action, and morals. Winners Take All grabbed me because I love sports, especially baseball. One thing that could be improved is the characters would have been more interesting. I'd recommend this book for kids age 7 to 10 who like sports.
