SLui writes the following about Because of Winn-Dixie [UNABRIDGED] :
Because of Winne-Dixe

Newberry Honer

This is a story about a girl who befriends a stray dog in a store. Together they have fun. The girl's name is Opal and the dog's name is Winn-Dixie. Opal and Winn-Dixie make new frinds like Otis,Gertrute the parrot,Mis Franny Block,Dulap and Stevie. A funny part of the story is The preacher( Opal's dad) was reading the Bible and Winne-Dixie started howling aaaaaarrooo, arrrrrooooowwwwww, and Arrrrruiiiiippppp. This is a very funny and good book. I recomended this book to 3rd and 4rd grades.
