All Julianna wanted was someone to play with. She had lived in the neighborhood for a long time, waiting for someone, anyone. So when Bryce moved across the street, Julianna wasn’t just thrilled because of having someone to play with, but because of his eyes. She flipped when she saw him. She had instantly fallen in love, at age 7. The fist time that Bryce saw her, he ditched her at the first chance he got. But by the 8th grade, after several years of Bryce trying to avoid Juli, and Juli getting every chance she could to see him, their views of each other flipped. Juli had never looked behind Bryce’s blue eyes, but now she knew that there was more than just blue eyes. Bryce had never looked behind Juli’s dirty shoes, but he realizes there’s more than just a hardheaded personality. How will they survive school in 8th grade?
I gave this book 9 out of 10 because it was a really good book. It had a good hook in the beginning, and continually had hooks throughout the book, to keep you right on reading. The characters were well developed, and you heard both Juli and Bryce’s side of every story. I gave it 9 out of 10 instead of 10 out of 10 because there were a few things I would have changed. I would have made the ending end in a different way. I would have made it longer. It had a good ending, but I just thought there could be more to it, and that there was something missing. But overall, it was a great book.
