Red Dog is a meaningful story about a young boy who is troubled because he had to move with his step-father instead of staying in his old town, where his family lived before his dad died. Here he must learn to "be a man" and has to grow up when his family is in grave danger with three selfish men. This story is thrilling, a page turner, and a meaningful story. I really recommend it to all who enjoy the wilderness, suspense, and the troubles of a preteen boy. Although the beginning of the book may seem at bit slow and unexciting, wait until you read the rest of the story!
