Torei writes the following about Miserable Mill :
Plot
Violet, Klaus, and Sunny are orplacphans who are looking for a decent place to live and where ever they go, Count Olaf is in disguise following them. He is trying to steal money from them . He comes close on a number of times but he's never done it. The orphans live at the Lumber mill. They are getting suspicious when one of Count Olaf's workers, Foreman Flacutono, trips Klaus and breaks his glasses. He is taken to the eye shaped building to get his glasses fixed. When Klaus returns he is hypnotized and zombyish. Sunny and Violet was worried about Klaus because he caused one of the workers at the mill to get injured. Foreman Flacutono plays the same dirty trick again causing Klaus' glasses to break again. This time Violet, Sunny and Klaus go to the eye shaped building and while Klaus is getting his glasses fixed he's hypnotized again. Sunny and Violet notice that the receptionist, Shirley, looks a lot like Count Olaf. After sitting there a while, they notice that Shirley is Count Olaf. As soon as Klaus is done, they all leave. The orphans try to tell the boss of the lumber mill that Count Olaf is after them in disguise again but he doesn't believe them.
