Amber Ladson writes the following about Who Am I Without Him? :
Who Am I Without Him?, by Sharon G. Flake, was a realistic, exciting, down-to-earth book. This book features different stories about problems that girls from different backgrounds face with the boys in thier lives. "It took her way too long, but she saved herself and you in the end"(220) is an exert from one of the stories from the book. This particular story was about a father writting a letter to his daughter, who he has not seen in a while. There are are a dozen different stories in dealing with girls who feel ugly, girls who go hunting for boys, and even one with a pregnant girl. The situations in this book seems to be pulled right off the streets in today's cities. I rate this book a 10, because it is easy to understand and it demands my attention and holds on to it. I do not know about you, but I can not read a boring book. I recommend this book because the author gives you front row tickets to these girls unusal, but common lives. I suggest you take it.
