Jesse Lloyd writes the following about Hatchet :
Hatchet is an exciting book about a boy named Brian. He is flying in a plane to visit his divorced father in Canada, but the pilot has a heart attack. When Brian crashes in a lake in the wilderness he has to learn to survive, be patient, and not make mistakes. I highly reccommend this exciting novel because it teachers you a lot aboout surviving in the wilderness, and it also teaches you what not to do, like be lazy and make a bad shelter, or bury your food where animals can get at it. I have never read Gary Paulsen's books before, but now I am starting to read Brian's Winter, an alternate ending for Hatchet.
