J Nackenson 5 writes the following about Hoot :
I believe that this book was a boring and not interesting book. It did not hook me in the beginning or at any point in the story. It just did not do it for me. The part where they saved the owls was such a low and did not seem that creative. I believe that the author should have made some kind of twist. Not just some same old same old happy ending right away books.

Nothing about this book hooked. The cover to me turned me off. I was thinking if it was going to be a good book and then when i looked at the cover i was offended who awful it looked. The only reason why i gave it a five is because i did not want to make it look to depresing. I hope we get to read some better books this year and for summer in eighth grade. I really do not believe that i will ever read a book by Carl Hiaasen again.
